Raising suicide awareness & assisting at risk Australians.

Our mission, beliefs and values
Our core mission at You Are Loved is to remind everyone that they are loved. And that includes by us.
In 2022, 3249 Australians committed suicide - representing a figure of 12.3 out of every 100,000 people. In the same period, the Australian homicide rate was at 0.87 per 100,000 people.
Australians then, are 14 times more likely to die from suicide as opposed to homicide. While we all worry for our safety, we must take care too for the mental wellbeing of others. There are many ways that together we can do this; from encouraging each other to lead healthy, active lifestyles - to simply treating others, including strangers, with kindness and patience.
When people take their own life, they often do so because they see no alternative, they feel as though things will never get better. Some struggle their entire lives before they make that fateful decision.
We firmly believe and promote the idea that humans are innately valuable; and that we should treat ourselves and others with dignity, respect and compassion.
We directly engage with people via several projects, which you can read more about below.

Our Projects
Sending letters & pamphlets across Australia

We go out into the community to engage with members of the public. This helps give us crucial insight into the issues Australians are facing and allows us to spread our cause. We also provide speeches in schools and other institutions, educating the importance of suicide awareness, self love and kindness to others.
Community Service
Our mission is to reach every Australian household with a heartfelt message of self-worth and encouragement. Through our letter campaign, we strive to remind individuals across the country of their inherent value, believing that this approach can and will reach those who need it most.
The flyer reminds the reader that they have a purpose and the ability to contribute positively to the world. It includes messages of encouragement, self-care, and the importance of kindness — to oneself and others.
Additionally, the flyer introduces our confidential chat-based support service, providing a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals to express their thoughts, share concerns, or seek reassurance. Whether facing challenges or simply needing someone to listen, this service ensures no one has to feel alone.
We offer a chat based support service via WhatsApp and Messenger. Here, people can reach out in times of need. We listen and provide real, compassionate support without judgement.
